My Fashion Film Story - THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUEEN AND MANKIND

FASHION FILM – THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUEEN AND MANKIND
(To be done, finished and edited by 15th November
DATES OF THE FILM:-
Friday 1st November 2013 or 8th November 2013
·         one model
·         one director
·         location - Catherine Street, Liverpool (my apartment), Liverpool
·         Clothing – borrowing items of clothing from shops
Scene 1 – the model will be wearing old fashioned night wear and she will probably we wearing every piece of jewellery that she can fit on her neck and fingers to show that using accessories makes her feel good about herself and using as many pieces of jewellery as she can to make herself feel even better about who she is and trying to feel the best she can as she is so miserable and alone and she wants to show this through her fashion by wearing pearls, diamonds and the entire lot of jewellery .  She will be looking out of the window standing in an empty room with no props other than the bed which will be in a corner of the room; she will be posing to the side of the window with her arms wrapped around herself, thinking and questioning herself.  (The mood of her thinking about men and how she is so disconnected from the male attention.  Everything started with her father, she felt neglected and hurt that he murdered her mum with no reason other than to marry again.  Also the effects of the bullying Mary 1 did and how it made her feel worthless) staring out of the window she is reflecting on everything that has happened and what she believes in and what will happen next.  The scene will open as the camera is slowly working up from the bottom of her dress to show the jewels, working up to settle on her face; the sound of a quiet violin will start to get louder

Scene 2 – Will be the model thinking in her head; she will be standing in the room; this will be an artistic scene, movement of arms and vibrating effects, the mood will get more intense as the violin gets louder.  It will be very expressive; she can only feel and be expressive inside.  There will be a plain white wall at the background and the model will still be wearing the wig and make up and jewellery; she will be wearing plain clothes (a white sheet that I will customise on her) and her body will be pale.  Or it could be scenes were her face is completely white and her body is the normal colour, showing she is hiding away from the rest of the world.
Scene 3 – I have the image in my head where the Georgian windows will be in the lounge that she will be staring out at the beginning of the film, I have the image of a bed in front of those windows, nothing else in the room; there will be light shining in from the window, a big white sheet on the bed and the model would be in full dress with make-up and wig on; she will do the same artistic movements that she has done against the wall but on the bed and it would relate to the depression of Queen Elizabeth; about the only place she ever felt sexual was in a bed alone as it is very personal; she always thought she would consummate a marriage in the bed and she will never do it; it is part of her sole dying; it’s very depressive, artistic, screaming, punching the bed and pillow, angry that that part of her life never really begun and is over.  She will be carelessly smudging off her make-up, smudging her lipstick and endlessly crying.  The camera is catching her from difference angles and when it gets edited it could be really fast almost like a twister, with the violin sounding in the background it would be very dramatic then suddenly she stops and just lies there
Scene 4/Final Scene – This will be the ending of the film where she will be thinking about her life and the anger and realising the betrayal she has been through; she will open her eyes and have a stunned reaction on her face and a tear rolling down her cheek.  She will be slowly trying to compose herself, she slowly moves into an artistic pose of how she is feeling with the bed in the background and her posing for a few more seconds before the film comes to an end with a sudden shut off
(Suggestion for a different ending would be a scene where the model composes herself and she would walk out of the room in a slow yet contained and pretentious walk; as she walks out of the room the scene blurs slowly and the camera focuses on the bed, completely blurs out and then goes off)
NOTES:-
My inspiration from the film that Steven Klein did was the film was all in slow motion with a dialogue that went through the whole film through acting and at the end of the film he had his model pose like a photo shoot so that the position and reaction from the model was important and the main thing about the film.  I want the model not just to be acting the part of this film but really believing that she is that character and really understand where she is coming from and how she is feeling.  Depending on her acting skills will really kind of depend on what progression the film will be.  It is not just about the fashion and the editing it is also about how good her acting skills will be; it goes story first, fashion then editing.  The ending to my film is from the inspiration taken from the video with the model posing how she has been feeling but with the bed in the background; she will capture that atmosphere.
My second inspiration came from Nick Knight’s video of how the movements of his models, the very distinctive and very individual movements.  The white wall in the background and the model posing and tossing her head around, punching the air, going crazy will capture the movement of what Nick Knight’s models did, capturing that independent mood.  The same kind of atmosphere will be created with the bed scene; the moment of craziness she is feeling in her head.  The video will be all about clear, expressive movements.
